About Nomiki Glynatsis

Having completed her Advanced Diploma of clothing, textiles and footwear at MSIT in 2008, Nomiki Glynatsis then went on to study further in Paris for 3 months in 2009. There she took courses at ‘Ecole Lesage’ and also participated in the ‘Paris American Academy’ Couture Intensive Workshop. In 2009 her graduate collection was also featured in the nationally broadcasted NRA Fashion Awards in the Student category. At the end of 2009 her label: ‘Nomiki Glynatsis Couture’ was launched featuring elegant couture evening gowns as well as couture jewellery pieces.

In 2010 ‘Nomiki Glynatsis Couture’ featured the “Age of Elegance” collection at the Fashion Palette Runway event. At the same time she was also successful in securing a mentorship with Nicholas Huxley (Head of Fashion at Ultimo, Sydney) through the Fashion Future program for 2011. Through his encouragement she went to Los Angeles in November 2010 to test the market for her couture pieces within the celebrity and event lifestyle market. She was then selected to become part of the official 83rd Annual Grammy Award gift pack for 2011 where 150 individual pieces were handmade for the celebrity nominees and 20 for the international press. At this time, Nomiki also secured a branding partnership with Swarovski, which enabled her use of the SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS branding on all her couture jewellery pieces.

Next, she showcased her “Romance of the Flowers” collection at RAFW May 2011 in Sydney and later was selected to feature another new collection called “Jewels of the Night” as a DEBUT finalist at Fashion Exposed in Melbourne, September 2011. Again in 2012 she showcased another collection in Sydney during Fashion Week called “Essence of an Enchantress” and went on to showcase the Spring/Summer 2012/13 collection in New York with Fashion Palette as one of 10 Australian designers.

Attracting media along the way, her pieces have graced the pages of many magazines such as FashionTrend Australia, Harpers Bazaar Vietnam, Frosting, Bride to Be, MAP Magazine, OK Magazine, Marie-‐Claire Australia; international online magazine Fractice, Adrian Erdedi Vogue Blog, Diary of a Fashion Muse; Newspapers such as the Courier Mail, Q Weekend, Sydney-‐ Morning Herald Sunday Lift out just to name a few.
